GB7YS, will provide Yeovil and it's surrounding areas, with it's first digital repeater system and in doing so, as the ETCC coverage map below shows, should provide a significant increase in the overall coverage of the DMR South West Cluster.
Hopefully we will receive your support.
No donation is too small or too large.
All we need at this time is your pledge of a donation.
We will not call in the donations, until we have received pledges that will enable us to purchase the repeater.
If you would like to pledge a donation to GB7YS, then please do so via the "CONTACT" form, on this web site.
We will of course acknowledge your pledge, and keep you up to date with developments. We will also include up to date information on the type of radio needed to use DRM, and the typical costs.
Currently, brand new dual-mode (FM and TDMA DMR) handhelds are available for around £85, or so, from UK suppliers.
After 6.3 months, of what would make an excellent plot for a "White Hall / Brian Rix" farce, I finally received an NoV from Ofcom, and our thanks must go to Cyndi Anafo, of Ofcom, for her efforts in finally getting the NoV issued.
If you have been following this page, then you will be aware that back in April, just after submitting the NoV request, we had received pledges to the amount of £650, towards the purchase of the Motorola Repeater, which currently stands at around £1,600
I have already funded and sourced the cavities etc., that are needed to interface GB7YS with the existing GB3YS repeater and the antenna system.
Because so much time has elapsed, whilst waiting for the NoV, I have decided to ask all those who previously pledged funding for the repeater, to re-submit their pledges, if they so wish.
Thus the 'funding thermometer', to the left, was reset to zero.
It currently shows the level of NEW funding pledges received, in the last 29 day's, since the NoV was issued.
GB7YS, subject to funding, will of course become part of the South West Cluster of DMR repeaters. Joining GB7AA, GB7BS, GB7CW, GB7ED, GB7DR, GB7JB, GB7KT, GB7MJ and GB7SD.
